Summer, 2011 Newsletter
Summer Greetings!
Where does the time go? Seems I was just writing to you telling you about our upcoming spring mixer. Well, we had that and it was a smashing success as we knew it would be since there were several class reunions that hooked up with us that night and we had the superb musical group Groove Tide performing for us. You just can't sit down when they play. This time it did rain on us a tad at the very beginning, but once that was gone it turned into a perfect evening. A bit cool, but better than too hot. And we had a surprise guest attend - Mrs. Marion Beasley, York High's nurse for many years. What a treat to visit with her. We have a photo of her included in the mixer photos. To view them, go to our web site: www.yorkhighalumni.org and click on "Photo Albums" and then the link to the 2011 Spring Mixer. BTW: We found a large (2" dia - 1/8" wide) silver hoop earring at the mixer; if it's yours, let us know.
We would also like to welcome all the "new" alumni who attended the mixer because it was part of their class reunion weekend. We hope you had a good time and hope to see you at future mixers too. If your class is planning a reunion you are welcome to tie it to our next mixer on Friday, October 7, 2011. Same time, same place, same great fun! Or, if your class will have a reunion next year, our 2012 Spring Mixer will be held on Friday, May 4th, at a new venue: The Freight Shed on Water Street in Yorktown. The class of '67 will be in attendance celebrating their 45th reunion. More info on all of that at a later time.
